UPCOMING ISSUES

H.R. 748: Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2019
This bill, which was introduced and passed through the House last year, is now on the Senate’s schedule. It has to do with what became known as Obamacare’s “Cadillac Tax.” Basically it placed a 40% tax on companies offering their employees health insurance plan above $10,200 for an individual or $27,500 for a family. Originally sold as a tax on the richest companies, it became extremely unpopular on both sides of the aisle when studies showed it would have a negative impact on as much as 82% of businesses. This resolution aims to repeal this tax entirely.
