UPCOMING ISSUES

Not too much going on in US Congress this week. The Senate will consider the House-passed USA Freedom Reauthorization Act of 2020.
This bill contains some reforms to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), Section 215 of the PATRIOT Act. Among many, many other things pertaining to surveillance and how government agencies track and save data, this bill would basically change who’s cell location data is available. It would require the government to inform the people who’s data they’re authorized to collect that they’re under investigation.
