Indivisible NWI Sheriff Candidate Forum 3/19/2026: Agenda

About us: Our group, Indivisible Northwest Indiana is one of more than 20 chapters in Indiana. Indivisible is a nationwide organization with chapters in every single state of the union. We are one of the longest serving Indivisible chapters; we’ve been in existence since 2017. We have membership in Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties and in other counties as well. Our main focus is working on issues that are important to the communities that we serve, to give truthful, vetted information to those communities, to go anywhere that we are asked to do voter registration, and also to provide civic education.

The SAVE Act is being debated in the Senate this week. Is the most repressive voter suppression bill ever considered in Congress and it has passed in the House. Continue to make your voices heard to your Members of Congress. But also talk about this bill that is so popular with republican legislators. Learn more about it on our website, along with ways to take easy action: https://indivisiblenwi.org/2026/03/save-act/

The format for tonight’s forum:

Tonight’s event is co-sponsored by MAS, More Action for Students.

The forum begins in earnest at 6:30. Candidates will be seated up front; stay seated and pass the mike. Each will have two minutes (timed) for an opening statement; same question for each candidate (two-minute limit; responses also timed). We will end at 7:30 so there is a chance for candidates and attendees to mingle. Questions were determined ahead of time and there will be no questions from the audience, but you will have time to talk with the candidates after the forum has ended.
