There are ten republican senators who are a definite no. We only need 6 more and many are still undecided. That is why they need pressure from all of us. Our webpage  has great information about which senators are the most persuadable and how best to frame our message to each. Brandon Dothager of Ballot Boxers created this analysis and it’s excellent. Go to the beginning of his document (it’s white with the title Ballot Boxers). Read through it and quickly scroll down to your senator for excellent messaging advice.

More great info from the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus is also on our website.

Learn more about redistricting and the new map:

District 1, currently represented by Frank Mrvan and where many of us live, will extend south into the Indy area, picking up a large number of solidly red voters. It will no longer include much of the northern democratic areas.
District 7, currently represented by Andre Carson, will be broken up into 4 different districts, diluting the democratic votes and increasing republican ones.

Poll after poll and listening session after listening session reveal that Hoosiers–Republicans, Independents and Democrats–do not want new maps.
Although this session is not technically a special session, but an early beginning to the 2026 session, this midcycle redistricting will still cost Hoosiers millions. Lawsuits will be filed and defending this map will be funded by Hoosier taxpayers.

Let’s all tell our state senator NO to a new map!

From Indiana Conservation Voters:
Indiana lawmakers will be back at the Statehouse next week to consider Washington’s deeply unpopular, deeply flawed plan to redraw our Congressional districts in the middle of the decade—a move Hoosiers have rejected at every turn.
Even the House sponsor admitted the truth when these maps were finally revealed: They were drawn “purely for political performance.”
This isn’t about representing Hoosiers.
It’s about power and Washington outsiders grabbing more of it.
But we still have a chance to stop it if we show up.

Hoosiers deserve leaders who focus on the issues we face every day—energy bills, taxes, inflation—not wasting taxpayer dollars moving lines around to benefit D.C. politicians.
Redrawing maps mid-decade:
❌ Undermines trust in our elections
❌ Gives Washington more control over Indiana
❌ Disrespects the voices of voters across our state
This may be our final chance to show lawmakers what we already know: Hoosiers do not want new maps. Not now. Not like this. Because this is not how we do things here.
